Stopped in last March when I was looking for a second car to drive a new Golf. They sent me this email today, so I figured I should respond.

Bob,
I do have a vehicle to trade, but you are gonna need to take the body out of the trunk yourself.

I still get letters from a Honda dealer in the next town over, for some reason, saying the desperately need my 2009 Civic Si that I sold over 5 years ago.
What a waste of time, energy, and trees.
Oh and also my warranty is about to or already had expired...

The local Hyundai dealer somehow managed to send me a birthday card. All I did was drive a Forte Koup and get blown off by the salesman when inquiring about one with a turbo and a stick...
But they neeed my 12-year-old, 155K mile rust-bucket Mazda.

They called on my 2017 Focus ST and said my warranty was expiring soon. I asked them to repeat what they just said and see if it made any sense. I heard an “Ummm.....” and then they hung up.

You can add up to one period in your gmail address and create a filter for it. For example, if your email is bobdole@gmail, you could pass out the email bob.dole@gmail and create a filter for anything sent to bob.dole to skip the inbox and/or go to trash, etc.

They keep emailing me to offer $5000 for my 2012 Fiat Pop! Above the KBB value!
I bought it from you. You should know the actual model. If you can’t handle that amount of info...

Due to the consumer data protection law here if they want your address/phone they must tell you exactly what they do with it, if they do something else you can sue them in federal court.
so they normally don’t fuck about... I almost never leave my email address anyway so that they never even have the temptation.

Haha, I’m going to start doing this with realtors.
“Hi, I saw your house for rent, and was wondering if you would be willing to sell it?”
“Why Yes I would! I know Zillow says it’s estimated to be worth $175k, but with the right marketing you should be able to get 3 times that!”

Yes, that sounds like an excellent plan.

Yeah, dealers here don´t bother you unless you let them!
I think its a great tactic to dissuade that dealer. What I hate about it is that they try to make it look like a good deal for you, as if they were doing you a favor, when its in fact just a transaction, you have cash, we have a car, you want it? give the cash, you don’t? then I bid you farewell!
Perhaps I shouldn’t be trusted with a business.

I never get these offers on my E46. I think they are afraid of the cooling system.
